Last week, Sony announced the May 2020 PS Plus free games. The two games are Farming Simulator 19 and Cities: Skylines. But if you were somewhat surprised by this announcement, and perhaps a bit peeved, you are not the only one. It turns out that a lot of people are upset about the selection.
What Gamers Think of the May 2020 PS Plus Free Games
Sony announced the two games on Twitter.
If you look at the replies, you will find that quite a few gamers are not satisfied with the selection. In fact, gamers have posted numerous memes and complaints in response, and have even attempted to collect petition signatures to change the May 2020 free games. Some people even thought that Sony was making an April Fool’s prank a bit late in the month. Needless to say, it wasn’t a prank. These really are this month’s free games.
The problem is not necessarily that Farming Simulator 19 and Cities: Skylines aren’t worth playing. It is just that these are niche games, and not everybody is going to get into them. It is common to see one niche game in the free games selection for a given month. But seeing two niche games is unusual. It has left a lot of paying customers feeling like their memberships aren’t really worth it for the month of May.
Plus, some gamers thought the May 2020 PS Plus free games would be Dying Light and Dark Souls: Remastered. Both of these games would have been super exciting to get to play for free, and a lot of people were looking forward to having that chance. But that was just a rumor, and an unlikely one at that. Still, when hopes are dashed, people get upset.
But unless you are sure you won’t like these games, our suggestion is just to give them a try. You could be surprised—you might really get into either or both. Who knows? Indeed, you could find that virtual tractors are your new favorite thing. Hopefully, Sony will come up with some more popular offerings for the month of June.
