Can’t wait to play Gears 5: Bound by Blood? During the Xbox One E3 press conference, Microsoft announced the release date for the next installment in the Gears of War shooter series. We also have learned that some players will be able to dive into Gears 5 early.
When Is the Gears 5 Release Date?
Gears 5 will release on September 10th. That means we only have several months to wait before we can join Kait Diaz on her journey. The game will be available on Xbox One and Windows PC through Xbox Play Anywhere.
This was not the only announcement which Microsoft made concerning Gears 5. In fact, quite a lot of news dropped, much of it in the form of new trailers. To start, we also found out that there is going to be a brand new game mode. This mode is known as “Escape.” The trailer for this game mode you can watch below.
There are a couple more trailers you can watch as well. The first concerns more about Kait and the challenges she is facing within. The second is for the Terminator Dark Fate character pack. Included in this pack is the T-800 Endoskeleton.
How can you get early access to the game? All you need to do is subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. This service includes both the Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold. As a member of Game Pass Ultimate, you will be able to play Gears 5 four days before the general public.
There also will be a couple of tests taking place over the next couple of months. One is the July 17th Gears 5 multiplayer tech test. The other is the August 19th Gears 5 Horde Mode test. Who will get to participate in these? In all likelihood, those who place pre-orders for the game.
This is not the only reason to consider pre-ordering Gears 5. Doing so will also come with an additional benefit—the Terminator Dark Fate character pack. Whether you pre-order or not, if you are subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you also will receive this character pack.
Undoubtedly, this is just the first of many announcements about Gears 5 which we can expect over the week ahead. To keep up with all Gears 5 updates as they come out, drop by our Gears news feed.
