Gears 5: What The Coalition Revealed About This New World

Microsoft and The Coalition revealed the fifth installment of the Gears of War franchise, Gears 5, at E3 2018, along with its trailer, which gave us information about the upcoming game. The trailer reveals amazing destinations which the team will visit during their journey, and regarding which The Coalition made an interesting statement during one of their interviews.

During the trailer, we saw familiar faces going on a journey in search of answers about Kait’s past. Kait seems to be the new protagonist of the Gears of War franchise. The story seems to focus on the journey she will make, searching for answers regarding her inheritance and her possible connection to the Locust. Additionally, going by the trailer’s clues, it seems like she will pass through some gorgeous environments before accomplishing her goal.

Those environments seem to be a variety of different locations seemingly disconnected and irrelevant to each other. We witnessed lush jungles, frozen wastelands and some waterfalls with hills, showing the most diverse set of scenery ever in the Gears of War franchise.

These are the environments The Coalition commented on, saying:

“For us, it was all about having the biggest, most beautiful world we’ve ever made”.

The word “biggest” is what caught our eyes, hinting that all these environments will expand further than what they were showed in the trailer. Furthermore, The Coalition added some information about the way they created the trailer, pointing out that their intention was to display the distinct environments available in the game. Evidently, these will be all the new places we will see during gameplay.

From this commentary, we also learned about the skiff we watched in the trailer. Apparently, it will be a free teleportation device so that the player can move easily from one place to another.

So far, everything reveals that Gears 5 will be one of the best Gears of War installments ever made, if not the best of all. We are looking forward to its official release so we can experience it all for ourselves.
