Giant Spiders & Pack Hunters Coming in Apex Legends Storm Point

With the upcoming launch of Apex Legends Escape, the game’s next season, a brand-new map is coming to the battle royale title. Entitled ‘Storm Point,’ this tropical island is hardly the beatific paradise it might appear to be. Not only will players have to contend with the usual enemy players, but also the native wildlife…

Apex Legends Storm Point: Prowlers, Spiders & Flyers

On the new Storm Point map, the local wilflife is both active and dangerous. Wildlife Nests are a major feature of Storm Point, appearing as red markers on the minimap. The Nests always spawn in the same place each match, with the same type of wildlife in each location (although the exact number of beasts may vary). Once players clear a Wildlife Nest, its marker disappears from the map.

The first wildlife type are Prowlers. Aggressive pack hunters, Prowlers won’t immediately attack players. Instead, they’ll snarl and growl threateningly at anyone who comes close. Get any closer, and they’ll attack. Beware, because engaging a Prowler will likely draw out more from their Den.

As well as Prowlers, the Apex Legends Storm Point map is also home to giant Spiders. Spider eggs can be found in various sites across the map. Beware, because damaging an egg will cause the Spiders inside to emerge and attack. Weaker than Prowlers, Spiders are ranged enemies, spitting webs at a distance before they rush in.

The final type of wildlife is also the only one that isn’t dangerous. Flyers spawn in random locations each match and can be seen flying above the map. They are more likely to drop loot than other wildlife types, making it well worth it for players to hunt them down.

While it may be sensible to give Storm Point’s dangerous wildlife a wide berth, players can claim rewards by defeating them. When a Prowler or Spider dies, there is a slim chance that they may drop ammo or an attachment, as well as other consumables. In addition, a small amount of the damage players deal to wildlife restores your EVO Armour. Finally, if players can clear a Wildlife Nest, they can claim a cache of crafting materials for their squad.
