Fallout 76 is less than three weeks away from release, and launches in Beta form on PC and PS4 tomorrow. As what is likely to be the final trailer before the launch, Bethesda has released a new Fallout 76 live-action trailer, and it’s a glorious imagining of what the studio clearly hopes the camaraderie of Fallout multiplayer will be.
The New Fallout 76 Live-Action Trailer
With just a few weeks to go, it’s unlikely that Bethesda will release any major new trailers between now and the 14th of November. As such, this new Fallout 76 live-action trailer is likely to also be the final Fallout 76 trailer. Lasting just 1 minute, the trailer nonetheless showcases plenty of what makes the game unique and different from its predecessors. Indeed, starting with a view of the Mega Sloth is a pretty clear indication that this is not a normal Fallout game!
Throughout the trailer, we also get glimpses of other new enemies; the new Chinese liberator robots, for instance, flying in a swarm through a quarry while players in power armor gun them down. Note the flying vertibird in the background too; could it be an indication that there are operational ones somewhere in Appalachia?
The trailer also gives us a brief look at a Fallout 76 deathclaw, an indication of impending PvP, and of course; the nukes. Fallout 76 is set to be a major experiment on the part of Bethesda. Launching ten years after their first Fallout game, Fallout 3, it takes the bold step of adding multiplayer to a franchise which has always been a solo experience. Bethesda has been clear that it doesn’t represent a sea change for the company’s future games. Indeed, Todd Howard has been clear that the game is a spin-off, not Fallout 5. Hopefully, players approach the game with an open mind and appreciate that this is a different kind of Fallout.
