Titan Arena: A First-Person VR Shooter
Lightbound Studios have plans to launch Titan Arena on the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and Windows Mixed Reality VR headsets. The studio is seeking to raise £23,063 in the next 26 days. “Titan Arena is the brainchild of two former God of War devs,” states the Kickstarter; “It is a fast-paced, first-person, action VR shooter where you (a human) battle against colossal robots using many unique weapons”. Those weapons will be unlocked as players progress through the game, once they defeat stronger and stronger Titans, the game’s massive primary opponents.
Current and Planned Content
The kickstarter details three Titans planned for the game so far. Titan-01 is a towering robot armed with a powerful laser. Titan-02 is the heaviest and possesses additional power cores to boost speed and strength. Titan-03 has the ability to fly and can launch barrages of homing missiles. One key feature of Titan Arena is a “Tether” weapon which allows players to pull themselves into areas they could not otherwise reach; including up and onto the enemy Titans. The Tether can also be used as a weapon to slam weaker enemies into one another or otherwise move them around the arena. The game features two other weapons so far; the Chaingun, which is a high-capacity automatic weapon, and and the Plasma Launcher, a homing grenade launcher of sorts.

In addition to the Titans, players would face down waves of lesser enemies. The studio has plans to add more, but there are currently only three; Drones (aerial troops), Spiders (ground troops), and Bombs (kamikaze drones). Lightbound Studios is also offering a variety of Kickstarter rewards, including a digital art book, digital OST, physical merchandise, and even a scale model of one of the Titans. The topmost reward tier even allows players to put their face and name into the game on a “Champion” billboard.
