GOG Puts the Entire Fallout Series on Sale for 50-75% Off

Spurred by the announcement of Fallout 76 and the rumors that had abounded prior, sales of Fallout 4 have recently seen a major upsurge. It seems this fact has not gone unnoticed by retailers; GOG.com has now put the entire Fallout series up to Fallout New Vegas on sale. The online retailer is offering discounts of between 50% and 75% on every title in the series. (Up to New Vegas.)

The first two entries in the Fallout series, Fallout 1 & 2, were not made by Bethesda. The series was originally made by Interplay Studios. When Interplay was on the verge of bankruptcy, the company sold the rights to most of the Fallout series to Bethesda. The two companies actually engaged in a protracted legal battle from 2007 to 2012 over the license. Eventually, Bethesda paid a further 2 million dollars to Interplay to gain the license in its entirety. Since then, the franchise has been wholly controlled and sold by Bethesda.

What’s Included in the Sale?

GOG.com is offering Fallout 1, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics for $2.49 each, after discounts of 75% off. As an added incentive, the retailer is also offering customers The Elder Scrolls: Arena and Elder Scrolls Chapter II: Daggerfall for free with a purchase of any of the Fallout titles. Fallout 3’s Game of the Year edition is 50% off, at a price of $9.99. This game also comes with the first two Elder Scrolls games included for free, and all of Fallout 3’s DLC. The Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition is also $9.99, including all DLC and the two Elder Scrolls games.

Unfortunately, GOG.com doesn’t sell Fallout 4, so you won’t be able to get the most recent entry in the series on sale there. Nor will you be able to buy Fallout Shelter. With Fallout 76 about to be formally debuted at E3, now is an ideal time to revisit the older games in the franchise. (Or pick them up for the first time, of course.)
