Guilty Gear 20th Anniversary Edition Announced for Nintendo Switch

Arc System Works has recently stated that Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R’s Nintendo Switch port would be delayed. However, it seems like the reason for the delay was to bring something bigger for the hybrid console. As a celebration for the 20th anniversary of the franchise; the company released a bundle of the original game and the sequel.

Guilty Gear 20th Anniversary Edition for Nintendo Switch confirmed

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R and the Original Guilty Gear will come to the Nintendo Switch

Arc System Works and PQube announced a collaboration effort to bring Guilty Gear to the Switch. The result of this effort is both Guilty Gear and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R will be available for digital release. However, fans of the series can also get a physical bundle which includes both games for their enjoyment.

It’s important to note that the re-release of the first game was also announced for PlayStation 4 and PC. However, it still hasn’t been confirmed if the aforementioned platforms will get a 20th Anniversary Edition bundle as well. There’s also no concrete date of release; however, it’s expected to be rolled out sometime during Spring 2019.

For those who are not interested in purchasing the bundle; players can also purchase Guilty Gear and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R separately. No further details about the price point of the digital editions or the physical bundle were given.

However, Arc System Works fans are probably wondering if any new game will come out. For those who don’t remember, a new Guilty Gear game was announced to be in development last year. Unfortunately, no new details on this title have surfaced as of yet. However, Arcsys has promised that they will reveal further details this year.
