Gwent: Crimson Curse Brings Anna Henrietta as a Leader for Nilfgaard
Just two days after announcing that Dana Méadbh will be coming as a new Scoia’tael faction leader in Gwent: Crimson Curse, CD Projekt Red has announced a second upcoming faction leader. When Crimson Curse launches tomorrow, Nilfgaard players will gain access to Anna Henrietta, the Duchess of Toussaint. She brings with her a treacherous unique ability which allows her to steal and play her opponent’s cards!
Gwent: Crimson Curse Will Add Anna Henrietta as a Nilfgaard Faction Leader
Anna Henrietta is the second new faction leader which CD Projekt Red has announced for Gwent: Crimson Curse. Dana Méadbh will join the Scoia’tael. Although not a new leader, players can also get the imposing Blood Armour skin for the Unseen Elder by pre-ordering the Crimson Curse expansion. Although the DLC is nominally themed around vampires, there are plenty of other cards on the way. Crimson Curse will be adding more than 100 new cards, and each faction will get at least 14.
Anna Henrietta’s unique leader ability is relatively simple, although it’s also especially treacherous; she can create and play a card from her opponent’s hand. This ability, if used well, can give Nilfgaard a significant advantage, especially if they can set up powerful combinations between cards which normally wouldn’t be possible. The ability becomes even more dangerous if the Nilfgaard player has Damien de la Tour on the field. The captain of Henrietta’s Ducal Guard, Damien has the power to; “Refresh your leader’s ability.”
Indeed, this ability appears to allow Henrietta to use her power more than once in a single turn; the teaser trailer shows a player using Damien to allow Henrietta to create and play two instances of the same card in one turn. Lady Anna Henrietta and the rest of the new content coming in Gwent: Crimson Curse will become available when the DLC launches tomorrow, on the 28th of March.
