Gwent: Crimson Curse will be the first DLC for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game when it launches later this month. The new expansion is due to release on the 28th of March, and is already available to pre-order. In fact, CD Projekt Red have now released a short new teaser trailer showing off one of the DLC’s pre-order bonuses; a Blood Armour skin for the Unseen Elder leader. This is the third trailer to be released thus far for Crimson Curse, following the recent expansion trailer.
Pre-Order Bonuses for the Gwent: Crimson Curse DLC
The upcoming Gwent: Crimson Curse DLC will release on the 28th of March, in a little under a week’s time. This release will be the first official expansion for Gwent since the game officially left beta towards the end of 2018. As the name (and rather un-subtle promotional art) make clear, Crimson Curse is heavily themed around the vampires found in the world of The Witcher. The expansion is bringing more than 100 new cards to the free-to-play card game; while there are new cards for every faction, there are a large number of vampires or vampire-related cards especially.
Gwent: Crimson Curse is currently available for pre-order, and CD Projekt Red is offering three pre-order bonuses for fans who do buy it ahead of release. The first of these is a 20% discount on the purchaser’s first 40 Crimson Curse Kegs. These kegs will only include new cards from the DLC; they won’t include any pre-existing cards. The second exclusive bonus is a bloody Crimson Curse Cardback. The last of these, however, is the subject of CD Projekt Red’s latest teaser trailer.
The Unseen Elder, the most powerful vampire to appear in The Witcher, is already a faction leader in Gwent. However, players who pre-order Crimson Curse can get a special Blood Armour skin for the Unseen Elder. Fans of The Witcher 3 may well recognise this armour from the game’s Blood and Wine expansion. This ‘Blood Armour’ is actually the Hen Gaidh vampiric armour set which players can find while delving into the lair of the Unseen Elder.
