New Halloween Modes Now Available in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
The Haunting of Verdansk, a major new Call of Duty Halloween event, is now available across both Modern Warfare and Warzone. While the latter is getting the new Zombie Royale mode, Modern Warfare now has two new game modes available to play, as well as a new gameplay mechanic which functions across all of Multiplayer.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – Onslaughters & Snipers Only
While Call of Duty: Warzone’s Zombie Royale mode may be the headline feature of The Haunting of Verdansk, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has gotten its own infusion of Halloween content with two new modes; Onslaughters and Snipers Only. (Although, the latter is admittedly more mundane than the former.)
In the first of these modes, Onslaughters, squads must compete over a special Juggernaut suit. This suit spawns randomly somewhere on the map, and players must seize it and get it to the goal before they get taken down by other players. In keeping with the Halloween theme, this Juggernaut suit has a flaming pumpkin head. (This cosmetic alteration actually applies to all Juggernaut suits, including those in Warzone, during the event.) The second mode, meanwhile, is simply a Snipers Only variant of Team Deathmatch. It features a selection of five pre-built sniper loadouts.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – Pumpkin Heads
Alongside the two new modes, Modern Warfare has also gotten a few Halloween-themed mechanical or cosmetic changes for The Haunting of Verdansk. These include the addition of scarecrows on Domination Points, for example. However, the most significant change is the addition of pumpkin heads; across every mode in Modern Warfare, including Ground War and Gunfight, players will be able to turn their head into a pumpkin. Once you reach three kills without dying, your head will become a pumpkin. Reach 10 kills, it will burst into flames. There is no specific bonus to getting a pumpkin head; rather, it serves more as a target for other players to end your streak.
