Even though we were all excited to see Microsoft and 343 Industries announcing the next addition to the Halo universe, the project is still a mystery. Halo Infinite will be a straight sequel to Halo 5 and will follow Master Chief but, other than that, we don’t know much. However, the developers reveal that they’ll be introducing an early access program, where selected fans will be able to test the game early on and help with its development.
During a livestream a few days ago, 343 community director Brian Jarrard explained more about the program. The so called flighting program will give the opportunity to just a handful of players to play the game at different stages of development.
What does this mean? Halo Infinite will be having a playable version through its development state. Using the program, players will have an active role in its polishing. Feedback and productive comments will help the developers make it the best title in the Halo universe. At least, that’s what 343 Industries promise us about Halo Infinite.
343 Industries FPS head, Chris Lee shared more information on the project:
“The flighting program isn’t like a beta, where it’s a moment in time on Halo 5 like we have for a couple weeks. We want to have a relationship, and we want to build that over time. We can have people coming giving us feedback and playing the experiences, and we can update it as we go.”
What’s important is the timing of the flighting program. 343 Industries hasn’t revealed any windows for it. However, they point out that players will be able to opt-in soon. We bet that stands for the selection program. Through it, the developers will choose the players that will play the game.
That being said, Halo Inifinite is still far from release. We hope that we’ll see it sometime in 2019, although this seems highly unlikely. Keep in touch with VGR to know when you can apply for the much wanted entry in the flighting program.
