The long awaited Halo: The Master Chief Collection updates is supposed to release soon, bringing some cool new graphics and new features to the popular Halo collection. The most important feature of the update is the Halo: The Master Chief Collection Intelligent Delivery, which will let you pick and download specific parts of the game, with no additional requirements.
343 Industries has been working on the Halo: The Master Chief Collection Intelligent Delivery feature for quite some time now, since it is one of the most requested ones from the community. Since the update will bring visual upgrade for the collection on Xbox One, the company includes the Intelligent Delivery as a means of cutting down some large files that the player won’t need anyways.
Players who are taking part in the MCC Insider Program are already able to test out the Halo: The Master Chief Collection Intelligent Delivery. For those who haven’t though, you can see the screenshot below that shows the video settings configuration screen:
An important piece of information about the Intelligent Delivery service is the way it works at matchmaking playlists. As 343 Industries revealed during Xbox Insider, this will now be done with pre-game playlists, prompting you to download additional maps if you don’t have the required content installed.Additionally, all players will be able to see the content that others have installed so they can make the best decision about which playlist to join.
There’s no indication as to when the Halo: The Master Chief Collection update will finally roll out. However, the Intelligent Delivery service looks extremely cool and seems like a useful way to let players decide what they want to get from the collection. This could be a feature benefiting other franchises as well, if they ever get interested in bringing all of their games in one collection.
Don’t forget that 343 Industries might be bringing another addition to the franchise under the name of Halo Infinity. If what rumored is legit then we should be able to take a first glimpse of the game during E3 2018.
