Replacing last week’s “Explosion Hazard” event, Far Cry 5’s latest weekly live event is now active. Entitled “Hambearger”, the event challenges players to hunt and skin bears using only a handgun. It’s certainly one of the more difficult weekly challenges thus far, but offers a powerful new weapon as a reward.
If you are unfamiliar with Far Cry’s live events; every Tuesday, Ubisoft sets a new weekly challenge. If you can complete that challenge a few times, you’ll earn rewards, including a unique event reward; typically a weapon or vehicle with a unique skin and boosted stats. If the community as a whole also completes the challenge a certain number of times, everybody will also unlock a new special outfit.
The Hambearger Live Event
Hambearger is no different. To complete the challenge, you need to kill a bear using only a handgun, then sell the skin. Do this twice, and you’ll earn 100 XP and 50 Silver Bars. Do it four times, and you’ll earn another 100 XP and also be rewarded with the D50 “Sovereign” handgun. This powerful hand cannon features a unique design and packs even more of a punch than a standard D50. Although it’s no Shovel Launcher, Far Cry 5’s event rewards of late have generally been improved versions of existing vehicles and weapons.
If the Far Cry 5 community kills and sells the skins of 75,000 bears, everybody will gain a further 100 XP and 50 Silver Bars. If the community completes the challenge 150,000 times then everyone will be rewarded with another 100 XP and the “Zip” and “Tracey” outfits. The first of these outfits is worn by the Zip Kupka, the pyromaniacal conspiracy theorist. The latter is worn by Tracey Lader, one of the members of the Hope County Cougars. The “Zip” outfit can be worn by male characters, while the “Tracey” outfit can be worn by female characters.
