Here Are Rage 2’s Recommended PC System Requirements

With roughly a week to go until launch, Bethesda has unveiled the PC system requirements for Rage 2. According to what Bethesda has shared, you’ll need a somewhat-beefy rig even if you hope to meet the minimum requirements. Of course, that’s not terribly surprising given Rage 2’s status as an expansive and explosion-filled open-world shooter.

Rage 2 Minimum and Recommended PC System Requirements

Bethesda’s post only outlines the specs themselves, leaving out any sort of performance metrics. However, recommended specs are typically indicative of high graphics settings and 60fps, so keep that in mind. Even if you’re following the minimum Rage 2 guidelines, though, you’ll still need a decent CPU and a decent amount of RAM.

Minimum

  • 64-bit operating system and CPU
  • OS: Windows 7, 8.1, or 10 (64-bit version)
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-3570 (or better) or AMD Ryzen 3 1300X (or better)
  • RAM: 8GB
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 780 3GB (or better) or AMD R9 280 3GB (or better)
  • Storage: 50GB of free hard drive space

Recommended

  • 64-bit operating system and CPU
  • OS: Windows 7, 8.1, or 10 (64-bit version)
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-4770 (or better) or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X (or better)
  • RAM: 8GB
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 1070 8GB (or better) or AMD Vega 56 8GB (or better)
  • Storage: 50GB of free hard drive space

The silver lining is that making the jump from minimum to recommended specs for Rage 2 isn’t too far of a leap. All you’ll need to focus on is upgrading your CPU and graphics card. Then again, if you want Rage 2 looking as good as possible, going beyond even the recommended specs is ideal.

Whoever wins the Dreamcast-inspired Rage 2 PC Bethesda is giving away likely won’t have to worry about system specs. However, since the PC is only valued at $590, don’t expect it to run Rage 2 at max graphical settings. Also, since it’s technically a mini-PC, it probably won’t be easy to take apart and upgrade.

Bethesda’s Rage 2 PC specs post also notes that broadband internet is required for certain online features. However, said features won’t be mandatory.
