Right now, Destiny 2 fans everywhere are eagerly awaiting the release of the Warmind DLC. We’ve learned a lot about the expansion in the past few days, and now an official synopsis has dropped. Check it out:
“Ana Bray, a Guardian long thought lost, searches for a connection to her past… one that could be hidden forever beneath the polar ice cap of Mars. As Golden Age satellites begin slamming back to ground, glaciers begin to thaw, revealing the core of the Warmind Rasputin – and an ancient Hive army bent on its destruction. Now free, the Hive swarm in service to their god.”
So the setting for the DLC will be Hellas Basin on Mars. We also know that the endgame will take the form of Escalation Protocol, which is a mode where you fight six waves of attackers before taking on the boss. Each week, there will be a new boss to fight, and there will be five encounters in all, each will unique loot.
What else do we know at this point? There will be a new Raid Lair called the Spire of Stars, and a new Hive faction is being introduced known as the Grasp of Nokris. All players will get two new Strikes, the Will of Thousands and Strange Terrain. Players on PlayStation 4 are in for an exclusive treat in the form of a third Strike, The Insight Terminus. It has been mentioned that the Spire of Stars will deliver “great rewards” and also help to resolve the Leviathan plot thread from Curse of Osiris.
Some other changes are on the way as well. With the DLC comes the capability to choose the emotes you wish to assign to the d-pad. You also can change the Crucible match settings so that they are PvP, seasonal or private.
You will be able to download Warmind on May 8th. The total cost for the expansion set is $19.99.
