You probably already know that there’s a new Black Ops Blackout mode available right now. What you might don’t know though is that there’s one in the works as we speak. The Ambush Black Ops Blackout mode will be the next one to hit the CoD battle royale soon. What is it though?
According to the Call of Duty mobile companion app, the new mode is Ambush. It will be in the classic Blackout map but there’s a catch. You can only use sniper rifles and melee weapons. There will also be better versions of three ingame perks:
- Skulker – Let’s you move faster in crouch position
- Dead Silence – You make less noise while moving and opening crates
- Outlander – You take less damage outside the circle and grands you bonus speed for two minutes
As the picture below indicates, the Collapse segment of each game will be one continuous act, so make sure to take extra caution on your position on the map. Take advantage of the higher ground if you’re a sniper player. Or, you can use the environment around you as cover to ambush other players. Whichever the case, play stealthy. It will make a huge difference.
Since this picture was nothing more than a leak, Treyarch was quick to adress. In a reply on Reddit, a representative of the studio has revealed that Ambush is indeed coming to Blackout:
It’s true, Ambush is coming soon in Blackout as our next limited-time mode in Blackout –- just not quite yet! Down But Not Out will be live for a couple of weeks on each platform. We’re planning to launch Ambush into the wild immediately afterward, so enjoy the insanity of DBNO while it’s live and let us know what you think of the redeploy system while we put the finishing touches on what’s to come.
It’s only a matter of time until we see the introduction of Ambush in Blackout. For the time being, make sure to check out Down but not Out while it lasts. Stay tuned to VGR for more Call of Duty news and guides.
