Here’s Why The Best Pokemon GO Player Has Been Suspended

What’s worse in Pokemon GO than seeing your most wanted Lapras or Dragonite flee right before your eyes? Undeniably, the fear of getting suspended. That’s what happened with Brandon Tan, the widely known best Pokemon GO player.

Yesterday, Tan informed his followers on Twitter that he has woken up to Niantic letting him know that he got suspended. He seems that he’s not even mad about it, he must have needed the break anyways. The reason of his suspension is still unknown. On Twitter, he said:

Just woke up after 14 hours of sleep, received this msg when I tried to log in 🙃 Thank you to everyone who msged me to show concern, but to be honest, I’m okay about it. Just that I’m worried I may look for another game to play during this period and not come back to Pogo 🤔 pic.twitter.com/6M3lm8ypYS

What we know is that Tan has provided paid services during the regular Mewtwo raids. As Gamerant reported, he has posted a pricetable for services depending on the number of Mewtwos and what IVs you want ranging from $32 to $500.

Niantic has a zero tolerance policy on any kind of cheating. Once you cheat you get a warning and after that you’re out. Fortunately, his suspension lasts for only one month. In November he can log in normally and continue his play. Here are the Niantic terms for Pokemon GO:

use the Services or Content, or any portion thereof, for any commercial purpose or for the benefit of any third party or in a manner not permitted by these Terms, including but not limited to (a) gathering in App items or resources for sale outside the App, (b) performing services in the App in exchange for payment outside the App, or (c ) sell, resell, rent, or lease the App or your Account.

Since he’s allegedly the best player in the world, we suspect he won’t be needing the Suicune October reward. Sad thing is he’ll miss out on getting high IV Beldum to evolve to Metagross but that’s a small price to pay.
