Earlier in the month, Io Interactive teased a special holiday surprise for Hitman 2 players. Some fans speculated that Io would bring back the ‘Holiday Hoarders’ bonus mission from 2016’s Hitman for a second go. As it turns out, those fans were right on the money.
Hitman 2 Holiday Hoarders Bonus Mission
Hitman 2’s Holiday Hoarders mission is available right now and will stick around until January 8. Much like in 2016’s Hitman, the newly improved Holiday Hoarders features a special Christmas-themed version of the Paris location. Players must find and eliminate two nefarious burglars before they can steal all the presents from the Christmas celebration. The two thieves’ names, Harry Bagnato and Marv Gonif, are also a cheeky reference to the classic holiday film Home Alone.
If you don’t own Hitman 2’s Hitman Legacy Pack, fret not. The Paris legacy location is available as a free download for all players during the event. The Holiday Hoarders mission also includes a ‘Secret Santa’ challenge pack. Again, just as in 2016’s Hitman, completing all of the Secret Santa challenges unlocks a Santa outfit for Agent 47. The Holiday Hoarders mission isn’t available beyond January 8, but the Santa suit is a permanent unlock available in all missions.
Along with the Holiday Hoarders mission, Io Interactive has also updated Hitman 2 to version 2.12. The update includes a bunch of game improvements and fixes for known issues. Hitman 2 players can now also unlock a series of new items by completing Featured Contracts. These new items are unlocked when 5, 15, 25, and 40 contracts are completed. Sadly, contracts completed before the 2.12 update don’t count and must be completed again to properly award credit. Also, each contract awards credit only once so you can’t just grind through the same contract 40 times.
