Hitman 2’s ‘A Bite out of Crime’ Santa Fortuna challenge is one of the game’s most brutal yet. The challenge involves feeding one of the location’s three targets, Rico Delgado, to his pet hippo. This guide will walk you through all the necessary steps to ensure Delgado meets his grisly fate.
A Bite out of Crime Setup
The preparation phase for the Bite out of Crime challenge takes a little while to work through. However, the initial setup for the challenge is pretty straightforward. You don’t need any special unlocks or items, the default loadout is fine. Just make sure you start with the Coin in your inventory. You can also begin at the default bust stop starting point.
Finding the Hippo
The most involved part of the challenge is simply reaching the hippo. From the mission starting point, turn and head towards the eastern part of the map. Follow the wide dirt road and when you reach a stationary yellow, red, and blue bus, veer to the right. You’ll find a semi-hidden jungle path which you should follow, staying to the right until you reach a waterfall. Near the waterfall is a log in the water being held by a rope. Shoot the rope and the log will drive over and create a path across the river.
Head across the log and follow the path to the right to reach a ledge. Climb the ledge and keep heading east until you find yourself in a cave network. Keep going southeast into the caves, avoiding the guards until you reach the hippo feeding chamber. You’ll find a solitary guard wondering how to make the hippo come out of its underwater hiding spot. To the right of the hippo’s pool is a shelf with a Meaty Bone melee weapon on it.
Toss a coin to distract the guard and get him to walk away from the hippo pool. Then, when the guard isn’t looking, toss the Meaty Bone into the pool. The hippo will come out and you’ll actually complete a separate challenge, Feeding Time. Now, all you have to do is hide and wait. The guards will report the hippo’s appearance to Rico Delgado and he’ll personally come to check on his pet. Even better, he’ll dismiss the guards upon arrival, allowing you to easily approach him from behind.
Dump Delgado into the pool and his “loyal” pet will do the rest. With Delgado dead, the Bite out of Crime challenge will pop up as completed.
