Hitman 2’s redacted challenges are a unique sort. True to their name, redacted challenges have hidden criteria, leaving players to figure out what to do on their own. One such redacted challenge is the ‘Déjà Due’ challenge for the game’s Miami location. In this guide, we’ll show you what to do to complete the Déjà Due challenge.
How to Complete Hitman 2’s Déjà Due Redacted Challenge
Before you attempt the Déjà Due redacted challenge, you should make sure you have unlocked the following mastery rewards:
- Marina starting location (Miami Mastery Level 4)
- Jaeger 7 Mk II (Miami Mastery Level 5)
- Any briefcase capable of holding a large item
Starting at the Marina isn’t entirely necessary, but it does make completing the challenge a lot more convenient. Also note that the Jaeger 7 Mk II is a “loud” weapon. If you’d rather keep things quiet, consider waiting until you’ve unlocked a silenced sniper rifle like the Sieger 300 Ghost.
During the Miami mission’s planning phase, equip both the briefcase and your chosen sniper rifle. This makes it so that you begin the level with the rifle in the briefcase. Other than the briefcase and the rifle, all you need is any silenced pistol.
Once you load into the mission at the Marina, run up the nearby stone staircase. Head around the corner so you’re travelling west and keep going until you reach a blue “Employees Only” barrier. Vault over the barrier, head over to the right into the building, and go up the stairs. At the top of the stairs you’ll find two track crew members overlooking the race. Knock out or shoot them so they don’t raise the alarm when you take out your sniper rifle.
Equip your sniper rifle and look out the northern facing opening on the walkway. If you zoom in towards the diamond-patterned chrome building, you’ll see a sort of thin sideways triangle-esque window. Perched on that window is a distinct white bird. Shoot the bird, and the challenge is complete.
