Hitman 2’s Miami location is as massive as it is sunny, giving players plenty of opportunities to test their skills. One of the locations’ more unique assassination challenges is the Paranoid Android challenge which involves killing the target Robert Knox. This guide will show you how to complete the challenge using nothing more than your ingenuity, wits, and…robots?
Hitman 2 Paranoid Android Walkthrough
The good news is that you really don’t need any special equipment or unlocks for the Paranoid Android challenge. You can just hop right into the Miami mission with your stock loadout and take it from there. As soon as the mission begins, turn to your left and head down the staircase into the tunnel. Proceed through the tunnel, up the opposite staircase, and into the large courtyard straight ahead.
Towards the water’s edge, near the sparkly dolphin fountains, you should see an NPC dressed in a distinct military uniform. This is Ted Mendez, and you’ll need to take that uniform from him. Fortunately, it’s easier to do so than you may think. First, wait until Mendez wanders down the northern walkway and starts smoking. Behind Mendez you’ll notice a door between the garden privets leading into a small maintenance courtyard. Inside that courtyard is a generator which you can activate. Doing so will cause Mendez to come investigate, allowing you to subdue him in seclusion.
One thing to note is that there’s a security guard who patrols along that same northern passageway. Make sure the guard is far enough away before you trigger the generator. With Mendez’s disguise equipped you can head up the courtyard staircase into the Kronstadt robotics showcase center. The receptionist, thinking you’re Mendez, will direct you to the demonstration room upstairs.
Assassinating Robert Knox
At the top of the stairs, keep going north until you reach the northeastern corner of the second floor. There you should spot a corkboard on the wall, and below the corkboard, a picture of Robert Knox. Grab the picture and then head over to the android demonstration.
Knox will explain how his company’s robot soldiers can kill targets based off of nothing more than biometric facial recognition. He’ll then volunteer to “test” the robots’ facial recognition by putting himself in the line of fire. Normally, Mendez would select photos of one of the targets behind Knox. However, since you’re Agent 47 and you happen to be holding a picture of Knox…well, the next step is obvious.
Feed Knox’s photo into the scanner and the android will do the work for you, gunning down Knox before he realizes what is happening. Even better, the technicians present will assume it was a malfunction so you can simply walk away scot free.
