Hitman 2’s ‘Raking it in’ challenge is hands down one of the most hilarious challenges you can pull off. As its name implies, the challenge involves knocking a target out with a rake…but there’s a bit of a twist. The knockout is triggered by having the target step on the rake, causing it to fly up into their face. In this guide, we’ll show you how to pull off this pratfall-based challenge with expert precision.
Hitman 2 Raking It In Setup
The Raking it in challenge is pretty easy to complete as long as you know where to go. The only tool that’s strictly required is the lockpick so make sure it’s equipped. Having the Suburb Sign starting location unlocked (Whittleton Creek Mastery Rank 11) also helps, but isn’t strictly necessary.
Hitman 2 Raking It In Walkthrough
The unfortunate victim of your rake-based prank will be the old man Janus. No matter where you start the mission, you want to head to the northwestern corner of the map. Next you want to head south down the street and look for a yellow pickup truck to your right. If you started at the Suburb Sign starting location the truck shouldn’t be very far off. Behind the truck is a small caddy with a rake sitting on top.
Take the rake and head across the street to Janus’ house. On the outer wall around the corner from the garage is a garage control panel. Pick the control panel’s lock and use it to open the garage door. Head into the garage, being careful to avoid the guards, and use the panel inside to re-close the door.
Now, for the trick to work you have to wait until Janus is up on the second floor. If you began the mission at the Suburb Sign he should already be up there. If not, just wait a bit and he’ll eventually head back up. Either way, once Janus is up on the second floor, move into the house and knock out the lone guard on the first floor. Take his disguise and hide his body in the storage crate in the garage.
This next bit is tricky so now’s a good time to make a manual save. What you have to do is place the rake at the bottom of the stairs. Place it in such a way that when Janus walks down the stairs, he steps on the rake’s metal head. If you do it right, the rake pops up, whacks Janus in the face, and knocks him out. Getting Janus to trigger the rake is a bit finicky, hence why you should make a manual save. If you set the rake like I did in the above screenshot, you should be golden.
