Hitman 2: What Carries Over from the Previous Hitman?

Hitman 2 is very much a continuation of 2016’s Hitman, both in terms of story and gameplay. Given this direct connection, it’s only natural that players who also played the first game are properly recognized. In the below guide, we have rounded up all the unique benefits that Hitman players can unlock in Hitman 2.

There are plenty of Hitman 2 bonuses for Hitman legacy players.

Season 1 Legacy Pack

The first and most obvious benefit is free access to the Season 1 Legacy Pack. For Hitman 2, Io Interactive went ahead and remastered all six of the previous game’s levels, making them playable in the sequel. The Season 1 Legacy Pack levels remain largely unchanged, though you can naturally use Hitman 2’s new tricks and tools.

Sadly, your mastery unlock progress from 2016’s Hitman *doesn’t* carry over. This means you’ll have to re-complete challenges and re-unlock mastery rewards for the Season 1 destinations. The good news is that the XP you earn from completing these challenges contributes to your global Hitman 2 profile. Black Winter Suit

The Winter Suit was one of the most coveted rewards in 2016’s Hitman, mainly because of how hard it was to unlock. Only those who successfully completed five Elusive Targets *and* earned a Silent Assassin rating could get the suit. In short, if a player had the Winter Suit unlocked, you knew they were the real deal.

For the sequel, Io Interactive went ahead and added in a special Black Winter Suit variant. You can unlock the Black Winter Suit simply by playing the first game, no Elusive Targets necessary. It may not be as coveted as the original Winter Suit, but the Black Winter Suit is no less stylish.

Aluminum Briefcase

Another freebie that’s given to all Hitman players is the Aluminum Briefcase item. The Aluminum Briefcase is cleverly adorned with travel stickers from Season 1 locations such as Marrakesh and Sapienza. Having the briefcase is also handy since you normally don’t get a briefcase until you finish the Miami story mission.

Requiem Item Set

In Hitman, the Requiem item pack was an optional paid DLC pack that was also offered as a pre-order bonus. The pack includes three items in total: the white Requiem Suit, the ICA19 Chrome Pistol, and the Pale Duck explosive. For Hitman 2, merely owning the first game (and thus the Legacy Pack) is enough to unlock the Requiem Pack.

GOTY Pack Unlocks

Another post-launch piece of DLC which Io Interactive released for 2016’s Hitman was the GOTY Pack. This pack included a new Patient Zero mini-campaign, three new suits for Agent 47, and three new weapons. All of the GOTY Pack contents are also available in Hitman 2. Much like in the first game, the Patient Zero campaign and new suits can be used right from the get-go. Also like in the first game, the new weapons are locked behind specific Escalation Contract challenges.

ICA Outstanding Performance Coin

There’s one last unlock worth mentioning, the ICA Outstanding Performance Coin. This special coin variant doesn’t perform any differently from the standard coin, it’s simply a mark of status. Unlocking the coin requires that you completed at least one Hitman Elusive Target with a Silent Assassin rating.
