While 2018’s Hitman 2 abandoned the episodic format of its 2016 predecessor, the game’s content rollout is no less confusing. Understanding how to get the “complete” Hitman 2 experience can be a frustrating exercise in futility. Fortunately, we’re here to explain what each of the game’s DLC packs and other content upgrades unlock. We’ll be specifically looking at the Hitman 2 Gold Edition, Legacy Pack, Collector’s Edition, and GOTY Legacy Pack.
Hitman 2 DLC/Content Pack FAQ
The standalone Hitman 2 experience is available in four separate editions: standard, Silver, Gold, and Collector’s. Each edition is more expensive than the last but more expensive editions naturally come with bonus items and perks. The price points for the four editions are as follows:
- Standard – $60
- Silver (digital only) – $80
- Gold – $100
- Collector’s (GameStop exclusive) – $150
Every edition besides the standard edition includes Hitman 2’s first upcoming DLC expansion and the ‘Executive Pack’ bonus in-game items. The Gold and Collector’s editions also include the second DLC expansion. The Collector’s comes with a second ‘Collector’s Pack’ of in-game items and some physical goodies. The DLC expansions will each include new locations, missions, Sniper Assassin maps, outfits, and weapons.
Hitman 2 Legacy Pack and GOTY Legacy Pack
It’s important to note that none of the above game editions include the remastered Hitman 2016 locations. Those locations are unlocked through either the Hitman Legacy Pack or the Hitman GOTY Legacy Pack for Hitman 2. Those who previously purchased either the standard or GOTY edition of 2016’s Hitman are entitled to their respective Legacy Pack. Hitman 2016 owners can download their corresponding Legacy Pack for free.
Here’s what’s included in the Legacy Pack and GOTY Legacy Pack:
- Legacy Pack – Remastered versions of Hitman 2016’s five locations (Paris, Sapienza, Marrakesh, Colorado, and Hokkaido)
- GOTY Legacy Pack: Remastered locations plus the Patient Zero bonus campaign and GOTY Escalation Contracts and suits
- Both the Legacy Pack and the GOTY Legacy Pack also include Hitman 2016’s Blood Money Requiem Pack
Hitman 2 buyers who don’t own Hitman 2016 can purchase the GOTY Legacy Pack for $20. Those who own the Legacy Pack can also upgrade to the GOTY Legacy Pack for $10. The standard Legacy Pack isn’t available as a standalone purchase. Specific instructions for downloading the Legacy Pack and/or the GOTY Legacy Pack can be found here.
