Houston Astros Love Fortnite As Much As They Love Baseball
Who are Fortnite’s biggest fans? Aside from everyone in the world, it seems, it looks like the Houston Astros, the baseball team, are huge fans. They’re trying to dominate in the baseball realm, but the players actively love playing Fortnite as well. Join the club, boys, as the game has nearly become a household name by now!
According to ABC 13, the Astros have been really loving the game, even bringing their hype for it onto the field, dancing just like some of the characters do — you’ve probably seen the same emotes in the news article the mainstream publication ran.
Josh Reddick, Alex Bregman, Jake Marisnick, Lance McCullers, Carlos Correa and Derek Fisher are among some of the players who take to the digital battlefield as often as they can.
“It’s just another way for us to have fun and be the nerds we want to be,” said Reddick during the ABC 13 interview. According to Alex Bregman, he, Jake, and Lance happen to be the “best” out of the group. It’s hard to say, because we don’t have their handles to go check out their stats. It’s not surprising to hear that a group of close-knit friends such as players on a baseball team blow off steam by playing a game like Fortnite.
This probably won’t be the last of the stories that come out of mainstream media outlets proclaiming how many other sports players or celebrities can’t get enough of the game. We already know Drake likes to play, but who else out there spends hours trying to get their Victory Royale? That’d be interesting to keep a running list of, eh?
