While Apex Legends Season 6 does feature big headline additions like a new Legend and a new weapon, the most significant new feature might actually be that of Crafting. The all-new Apex Legends Season 6 Crafting system gives players an entirely different way to acquire loot, potentially fundamentally changing how players approach looting in-game.
The Apex Legends Season 6 Crafting System
With the addition of Crafting in Apex Legends Season 6, players won’t need to rely on luck to find gear. “Around the map you’ll find plenty of opportunities to collect Materials that you can use to craft new pieces of loot,” explains Systems Designer Mark Yampolsky; “Certain points of interest around the map will have devices from which you can extract Materials.”
The specific location of these Material sources will change in every match. Players can also get Material from loot bins, although you won’t get as much this way. Once you have Materials, you can take them to a Replicator, another new machine which you’ll find around the map. In each Replicator, you’ll be given the ability to craft eight different pieces of loot, providing you have enough Materials. The weapons and attachments available from the Replicators will change on daily basis. Meanwhile, equipment and high-tier consumables will change on a weekly basis. In addition, you’ll always be able to craft ammo and med kits.
As an added feature, you can also fix Evo Armor in a Replicator. This allows you to spend Materials to repair it back to full health, or even upgrade it to the next level. Interestingly, you should always be able to find Replicators around the map, even in the late-game. To make sure of this, new ones will actually air-drop in during the mid- and late-game stages. Additionally, it’s worth noting that loot available in the Replicator will not spawn anywhere else. That means that the only way to acquire that particular loot on any given day will be to craft it.
