More so perhaps than any previous Battlefield title, the Battlefield 5 Medic class is one of the most important additions in your squad. With the new Attrition system in the game, players have less ammunition and resources, making healing abilities all the more valuable. Given the importance of the Medic, knowing how to play the class effectively is a valuable skill-set.
How You Can Best Play the Battlefield 5 Medic Class
The primary role of the Battlefield 5 Medic is very obvious; keep your squad-mates alive and healthy. If anything, this role is a bigger priority than fighting enemy players. Using your Revive Syringe, as well as your Medical Pouches or Medical Crates, you have a variety of tools at your disposal to heal your squad-mates, revive them when they go down, and dispense items for them to heal themselves with.
As a Medic, you have access to an SMG as your primary weapon, and a handgun as a secondary weapon. Obviously, other classes generally have more powerful or precise primary weapons; reinforcing your role as a primary healer and a secondary combatant. You also have access to a Smoke Grenade Rifle, a useful Gadget for giving your allies cover. If one of your allies goes down, the Smoke Grenade Rifle is great for obscuring them so that you can dash in and get them back up.
At present, there are two Medic Combat Roles available for you to further specialise your play-style. First is the Field Medic, which gives you the Healer and Swift Medic abilities. Field Medic is ideal for the core Medic play-style; dashing from ally to ally, treating injuries and reviving wherever you are needed. The second Combat Role, which must be unlocked, is Combat Medic. This role gives you the Melee Expert and Emergency Retreat abilities. This role puts less emphasis on healing with a boost for melee weapons and a speed increase when your own health is low.
