Call of Duty: Mobile is now out, giving players the chance to play the classic franchise on mobile devices for the first time. While the game mixes content from both Black Ops and Modern Warfare, the game also has some distinct content of its own, and one of these areas is the Call of Duty: Mobile classes system. Among more traditional-style classes like Defender, Medic, and Scout, this system includes some more bizarre options. In the first article of a new series looking at how each of the game’s six classes work, we’ll be examining perhaps the most bizarre class of all; the Clown.
Call of Duty: Mobile Classes – The Clown (Abilities)
Certainly, when it comes to names at the very least, the Clown is the strangest entry in the roster of Call of Duty: Mobile classes. However, it actually serves something of a specialist role in the game’s Battle Royale mode. The Call of Duty: Mobile version of battle royale actually includes both living opponents and zombies, and the Clown’s focus is on dealing with the latter first and foremost.
Their first ability is the simply-named “Anti-Zombie”. This ability serves to greatly reduce the distance within which zombies will detect and attack you. This means that you can pass much closer to zombies without them turning on you than other classes. They will still attack if you get too close, however, so don’t drop your guard too much around them.
The second ability of the Clown fits its name a little better; Toy Robot. This ability lets you throw down a Toy Robot which attracts nearby zombies. However, rather than destroying them, it actually turns those zombies into your allies who will attack any of your enemies who are nearby. “There is a case for using the Toy Robot at any point in battle when an enemy may be near,” explains Activision; “However, it’s worth utilising toward the end of a game, due to the limited safe area where your foes can hide from the undead.”
The Clown is certainly an unusual class, and serves a utility role of sorts on the battlefield. If you find yourself often having trouble with zombies, then it might be worth giving this class a try. Not only will you need to fight zombies less, but you can even turn them against your rivals.
