Yesterday, Respawn made the long-awaited announcement of the start of Apex Legends Season 1. The game’s first ever season begins today, bringing the new Legend Octane to the game, along with 100 different rewards through the Apex Legends Battle Pass. As fans look forward to Season 2, however; it seems that Respawn has intentionally designed the Battle Pass so that players can earn enough Apex Coins to afford the next Battle Pass without spending additional money.
How You Can Get the Apex Legends Season 2 Battle Pass in Season 1
Apex Legends Season One begins today, bringing a host of new content to Respawn’s surprise-hit battle royale title. Foremost amongst these is Octane; the first new playable Legend to come to the game post-launch. Indeed, Octane is a highly mobile character who utilises deployable launch pads and can sacrifice health for speed. The Apex Legends Battle Pass is available for 950 Apex Coins, and this pass gives players the ability to unlock 100 special season rewards.
The rewards which players can unlock through the Battle Pass range from skins and other new cosmetics to literal Apex Coins. After fans spotted that Apex Coins could be earned as a reward, many began speculating. Redditor “zombielynx21” asked the question of just how many coins would appear from the pass in Season 1; “I see that Apex Coins are included as rewards with the Battle Pass. How many coins can we earn in Season 1 from the pass?”
In response to that question, Respawn Community Manager “Jayfresh_Respawn,” tweeted that; “Total it’s 1,000 sweet sweet coins”. As a result, this means that players who don’t go out of their way to spend Apex Coins can theoretically earn enough to buy the Apex Legends Season 2 Battle Pass. Interestingly, this is a near identical model to Fortnite’s season system; another system which allows players to earn enough in a single season to buy the next season’s battle pass.
