How the New Survival Camps Work in Call of Duty: Warzone

With the recent launch of the ‘80s Action Heroes event in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Warzone has gotten some major changes to its Verdansk map. For one, Die Hard’s Nakatomi Plaza now dominates the skyline of the city. However, less noticeably, ten Survival Camps can now be found scattered throughout the wilderness, offering special missions, loot, and more.

The ’80s Action Heroes event is a full month-long special event featuring tie-in content to both the Die Hard and Rambo film franchises. While Nakatomi Plaza’s arrival in Verdansk is clearly the former, Rambo’s contribution to Verdansk is more subtle. Players will be able to find ten different Survival Camps around the map, inspired by Rambo: First Blood Part II. These are part of a special mission which players can complete in-game.

To get started, you’ll need to find one of the Survival Camps. They do not appear on the Tactical Map and are relatively small; little more than a wooden shack and signs of a campsite in most cases. You can find classified intel elsewhere which may point you to the location of one of these camps. Once you arrive, search around for equipment, especially an item called a Fallen Soldier Dog Tag. This item is needed for the next step of the mission, and one should be present in each Camp.

Along with the Survival Camps, there is another new location in Verdansk; a CIA Outpost. In this site, players can find a radio which they can use, but only if they’ve recovered enough Fallen Dog Tags. Unlike Nakatomi Plaza, which features several special events and and missions for players who visit, the Survival Camps rely on players doing more legwork themselves. Players will need to track down their locations, gather up the Dog Tags, and then reach the CIA Outpost if they want to get to the bottom of the mission; all adding up to a lengthy trek back and forth across Verdansk.
