Did you know that you can check your Pokemon IV in Pokemon Let’s GO too? The integration with the mobile game goes way beyond just transferring your favorite species and that’s another layer of it. In this guide, we’ll go over the ways you can make it happen.
For starters, let’s go over the IV itself. What it basically is, is a rating of your overall power and it stands for “Individual Value”. There are 6 different categories on that matter. Let’s go over them:
- HP – Health points
- Attack – How much damage a Pokémon deals with a physical attack
- Defence – How much damage a Pokémon receives from a physical attack
- Special Attack – How much damage a Pokémon deals with a special attack
- Special Defence – How much damage a Pokémon receives from a special attack
- Speed – Determines who attacks first during a turn
Keeping those statistics in mind and finding pokemon with high values is the first and foremost way to check if it is good or not. It is not quick nor efficient though. However, there are more ways to check your IV.
First of all, check a Pokémon’s IVs directly by going into the menu with ‘X’, selecting Pokémon Box, and selecting the Pokémon you want to check. Scroll down to ‘Check summary’, then press ‘A’ to show more details. That way you’ll be able to see all statistics and compare them to know what is good or not.
Secondly, you can get the IV Judge in Pokemon Le’s GO. It is obtainable in the game and you can use it after route 11. If you have caught 30 different species you can head to Professor Oak and have him teach you the skill.
Much like the Appraise skill in Pokemon GO, the Pokemon Let’s GO IV Judge has ratings to indicate your IV score.
- Best – 31 (Highest IV score in Pokémon: Let’s Go)
- Fantastic – 30
- Very Good – 26 – 29
- Pretty Good – 16 – 25
- Decent – 1 – 15
- No Good – 0
This marks everything we know about the IV stats in Pokemon Let’s GO. Keep in touch with VGR for more guides and news on this game along with Pokemon GO.
