The Enclave have traditionally been villains in the different Fallout games. Indeed, most fans are likely familiar with their appearances in Fallout 3, where they served as the main antagonists. The Fallout 76 Enclave faction, however, is actually one of factions players can join. Without human NPCs to guide or recruit you, however, finding the Enclave can be tricky.
How to Find the Fallout 76 Enclave Faction
To join the Fallout 76 Enclave faction, you’ll need to get inside their secret bunker. As one might expect from a bunker, this site isn’t easy to access. You’ll need to find in-game instructions on how to get in. These can be found at a site called the Abandoned Waste Dump, which is located near Berkeley Springs. Be prepared for a fight when you arrive, the Dump is home to a pair of Deathclaws. Kill them, and then head into the caves below the Dump, where you’ll find the body of an Enclave member. The instructions can be found on this corpse.
Once you read the instructions, you’ll start the quest “Bunker Buster,” which will guide you on how to get into the Enclave bunker. This bunker, which is known in-game as the Whitespring Bunker, is to be found near the centre of the map. To find it, simply go to Charleston and make your way due east. If you’re familiar with the Whitespring Resort, based on the real-world Greenbrier, the bunker is located nearby. Given the actual history of the real-world bunker, its role as the Enclave HQ makes perfect sense.
How to Join the Fallout 76 Enclave Faction
Once you’ve completed the steps of the Bunker Buster quest, you’ll be able to enter the Enclave bunker. Inside, you’ll find one of the game’s actual characters; an AI called MODUS. The artificial intelligence will give you a quest to destroy a powerful robot which can be found at Sugar Grove. Completing this quest will satisfy MODUS and grant you membership in the Enclave. Among the different Fallout 76 factions, the Enclave comes with some of the best benefits. You have easier access to one of the few locations from which to launch nukes, and a variety of special Enclave equipment, such as a Laser Minigun.
