When it comes to the NBA 2K19 MyTeam feature, there are different in-game currencies to earn and spend. These include Virtual Currency, MyTeam coins, and Tokens. Gamers are able to earn these through various aspects of the game and use them to purchase MyTeam player cards, contracts, and other items. However, those who aren’t deep into the game will mostly be using VC and MT, but not Tokens. Here’s a look at how to get NBA 2K19 Tokens in MyTeam and unlock the Token Market.
How to get NBA 2K19 Tokens in MyTeam
To get NBA 2K19 Tokens in MyTeam will take a bit of grinding, but it can be well worth it. Tokens are available through participation in the various MyTeam game modes. You can go into the MyTeam area of 2K19 and then to “Single Player.”
From there, select “Challenges.” You can choose Weekly, Moments, or Schedule Challenges. Each of these requires winning a series of games or performing a certain stat in a game. Multiplayer Challenges are also available in MyTeam and often can help you win Tokens, so check these out as well.
Tokens are also achievable by assembling collections of cards or items. Navigate on the top menu for MyTeam to the “My Team” and then select “Collector Levels.” In the Collector Levels area, you can see each group of cards that you collect will achieve a different level.
So for example, after you collect your first 20 MyTeam cards you achieve Rookie Level. That earns three Tokens. By collecting 100 cards, you achieve “First Team” and get a MyTeam player card for it. Once you hit 250 cards that gets you 10 Tokens, and so on. It continues all the way up to 2,500 cards or G.O.A.T level. That brings a Galaxy Opal Giannis Antetokounmpo with it.
You can also go into the NBA 2K19 MyTeam home screen and select “Goals.” Scroll through these using the buttons on your controller to see what you need to do in order to rack up some Tokens.
One other tip is to follow the NBA 2K19 MyTeam Twitter account. They often give out Locker Codes on their feed. These give you a free shot at winning Player cards, Packs, Virtual Currency, MT, and Tokens. So take advantage of these as often as possible!

Still, as you accumulate them through the challenges, collections, or locker codes, you’ll be able to do this.
On MyTeam “Home” area, select the “Rewards” option. Here is where you’ll redeem your Tokens for player cards. Each level of gem corresponds with a different value level of cards. It begins with Emerald Rewards and goes all the way up to Pink Diamond and then Galaxy Opal.

- Diamond Rewards (get 10)
- Pink Diamond Rewards (get 10)

- Tokens Market unlocks after all of above
You’ll need to purchase player cards on each of these Rewards levels as described on the screen. Emerald Rewards are three tokens per player card. Sapphire Rewards are six Tokens per player card, and so on. It goes up to Galaxy Opal which are 750 Tokens each.
These include some great legends’ cards such as Galaxy Opal Allen Iverson, Elgin Baylor, and Wilt Chamberlain. Once you have completed each of the Rewards levels, you’ll unlock the Token Market.
It can take some grinding away, but if you keep at those challenges or collections goals, you’ll be able to rack up the Tokens. Spend them wisely to upgrade your MyTeam, and you’ll soon be balling with the best of them in this mode!
