How to Visit Other Worlds in Final Fantasy XIV

The FFXIV Final Fantasy 15 collaboration event is going on right now but that’s not all. The Final Fantasy XIV update 4.57 is out right now and it finally allows for the Final Fantasy XIV World Visit System. But how do you actually visit other worlds? And what is it all about? These are the questions we aim to answer in this guide for the MMORPG.

For starters, the Final Fantasy XIV World Visit System allows players to visit other worlds but there are some limitations. Essentially, if you have a friend who is on a different world, though, you could break down the walls and play with them. You can basically adventure through the new expansion and everything else with anyone you want now.

Here’s how to use the Final Fantasy XIV World Visit System. To start, you must visit either the Uldah, Gridania, or Limsa Lominsa main aetheryte. Select the crystal and you will see the option to visit. However, you can only visit worlds that are on your current data center. The worlds that appear are your only options. Period.

For instance, it looks like a Balmung player can’t visit a Midgardsormr world and vice versa. In addition, there are some restrictions as to what you can and can’t do in that world. You can’t do things like summon your retainer or sell items on the market board but you can purchase items on their market board.

This means that you can’t do specific quests related to your retainer there either. So, unlocking or customizing one will have to take place on your server. You also can’t purchase housing or join/create a free company. If you log out while visiting, you will return there upon logging back in. There is no time limit for visiting another world.
