How to Unlock the Marshal Handgun in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 5 has only just launched, and yet, Treyarch is already rolling out their first post-launch new weapon of the season; the Marshal handgun. Now available to unlock and use in-game, the Marshal packs quite a punch, earning it a special place in the game’s armoury.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 5 – The Marshal
The first thing that sets the new Marshal handgun apart from other sidearms is that the weapon is break-action; rather than loading a cylinder or magazine, players reload this weapon like a double-barrel shotgun. In fact, the weapon is functionally almost identical to a sawed-off double-barrel shotgun, albeit one usable in one hand. The Marshal even fires 12-gauge shotgun shells! As such, it boasts enormous damage and stopping power at close range. It is more than capable of annihilating enemy players with a single shot if the wielder lands a hit up close.
If you want to get your hands on the Marshal then there are two ways you can do so. As per usual for a new mid-season weapon, you can get a specific version of the Marshal in a new store bundle. The “Power Keg” bundle includes the “Matchlock” – a unique blueprint for the Marshal in with its other contents. Of course, you won’t be able to earn weapon XP with it this way, or complete certain challenges. To do that, you’ll need to unlock the weapon manually.
To unlock the Marshal for Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer or Warzone, you’ll need to complete an in-game challenge. Namely, you must use a pistol (any pistol) to score at least one Headshot kill in fifteen different matches. (Note that you must complete the matches for the kill to count.) If you want to use the Marshal in the Zombies mode, you’ll need to complete a separate challenge. In this case, you must use a pistol to kill 30 Disciples while those Disciples have at least 5 Zombies under their control.
