The E-Tool is the latest new melee weapon to make its way to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War as part of Season 2, following the launch of the Machete two weeks ago. This weapon, which is actually a small military-grade shovel, which can serve as an effective bludgeoning weapon in close-quarters. The E-Tool is now available to either unlock or buy in-game.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 2 – The E-Tool
As per usual for new weapons arriving mid-season in Black Ops Cold War, the E-Tool is available through two different methods. The first is to actually unlock it, which requires players to complete a challenge. Typically, these challenges ask players to complete some in-game feat in a series of different matches, serving more as endurance skill challenges rather than one-off feat challenges. However, most players shouldn’t fit it especially difficult. The alternate method to unlock the E-Tool is to buy a new store bundle which includes a version of the weapon.
This new bundle is “Tool of War,” which includes the “Bunker Buster”; a unique Legendary variant of the E-Tool. The bundle also contains the “Revolutionary” skin for Garcia, “Pinch” Reticle, “Cuban Links” Wrist Accessory, “Entrenching Tool” Weapon Charm, and “Club Force Trauma” Sticker. Purchasing this bundle will give you immediate access to the new weapon, but there are downsides. Specifically, you’ll only be able to use the Bunker Buster, not the standard version of the E-Tool. This means that you won’t be able to level up the weapon through using it. To do that, you’ll need to unlock the E-Tool properly by completing the in-game challenge.
The E-Tool is the fourth new weapon to launch in Black Ops Cold War since the start of Season 2. The FARA 83 and LC10 were both available at the start of the season in the free tiers of the Battle Pass. Since then, the Machete and the E-Tool have come to the game as well. There are still two more weapons which will be arriving later in the season, both of which are firearms. The first is the R1 Shadowhunter crossbow, while the latter is the ZRG20mm sniper rifle.
