2K Games revealed their plans in one of their recent interviews, which had us theorizing again about Borderlands 3. Disclosing their desire to put more money into projects is giving hopes to the fans. Does this mean that we can count on a sooner release of the third Borderlands title?
2K Games were absent from this year’s E3 convention. The rumors about Borderlands 3 had been building up, and fans were expecting at least an appearance from the company. However, 2K Games has not revealed any more information about their plans regarding their Borderlands franchise.
Borderlands 2 was released in 2012, meaning that six whole years have passed with no new addition to the franchise. But 2K had revealed that they were working on Borderlands 3, which means that the game does exist. The problem is that we have no idea what development stage the game is at. With their announcement of needing a writer to join their group, we thought the project had been paused for a while.
In their recent interview with Games Industry, 2K Games stated that they aim for the highest quality content. For their development studio to accomplish that, though, they have to put more money in. They were specific about wanting to add more games under their name, but we already know the struggle they had with Borderlands 3. The most certain thing is that if they invest more money in the third Borderlands title, it should be ready sooner.
On top of that, it should also be way better than the other Borderlands titles. The anticipation for Borderlands 3 keeps growing because of this. If gamers loved the first two titles, imagine how much they would like a 2019 Borderlands addition. However, if they want to grow their collection, they need to finish their existing projects first. One of them is Borderlands 3, and it is definitely a priority. Maybe this statement encompassed the Borderlands franchise. If not, let’s hope that they reconsider and do it.
