Although Infinity Ward has released one action-packed trailer already for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. However, the studio has yet to show any actual gameplay from the upcoming title. Some gameplay was shown during E3, but it was only shown behind closed doors to members of the press. However, according to Infinity Ward, it won’t be long before they do show off Call of Duty: Modern Warfare gameplay.
When Will We See Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Gameplay?
Just like with Cyberpunk 2077 last year, the showing of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare gameplay to press at E3 has only stoked fans’ anticipation of seeing it for themselves. However, in this game’s case, it is much, much closer to release. Indeed, this game will be out on the 25th of October, in just a few months’ time! As such, Infinity Ward doesn’t actually have a lot of time to wait and stoke hype, as CD Projekt Red did.
In response to a fan question about the gameplay release date on Reddit, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Art Director Joel Emslie replied; “Almost there… stay on target.” It’s not uncommon for studios to avoid releasing specific dates for things like gameplay reveals. However, fans likely won’t have to wait too much longer, simply because time is against Infinity Ward; as of today, there remain just under three months before the release of the 2019 Call of Duty title.
All told, October 2019 looks as though it will be surprisingly quiet for game releases, despite normally being a hotspot. (Though September is absolutely packed.) Modern Warfare’s biggest competition will likely come from Ghost Recon Breakpoint. However, that game will be launching at the opposite end of the month, on the 4th of October. As such, it may not offer much direct competition. The Outer Worlds will be releasing on the same day as Modern Warfare, but that game is unlikely to attract the same scale of audience.
