Premiere: Inon Zur’s Music Video for ‘Shelaya’ Featuring Aubrey Ashburn
Into the Storm, the debut album from composer Inon Zur, was released early this month on the 7th of June by Sony Masterworks. The album spans thirteen original tracks inspired by the music composed by Zur for games like Dragon Age and Baldur’s Gate. Thus far, only one music video has been released for the album. However, Sony Masterworks has partnered with us here at VGR to premiere a brand-new music video for Shelaya; a song featuring talented soloist and songwriter Aubrey Ashburn! The track was originally composed for Dragon Age 2, but is now part of Into the Storm.
Shelaya: Into the Storm’s Second Music Video
“I’m so excited to share the second single from my album Into the Storm – Shelaya,” writes Inon Zur; “This song was written during the time I composed the music for Dragon Age 2, which I decided not to release in the game, but rather to wait and dedicate it as a single of my own. It features the amazing Aubrey Ashburn accompanied by the City of Prague Philharmonic.”
Inon Zur is best known for composing soundtracks for the likes of Fallout, Dragon Age, Baldur’s Gate, The Elder Scrolls: Blades, and many other major titles. However, Into the Storm is his first album of original work. The album’s first music video debuted as part of the SXSW Gaming Awards three months ago. That video, and the track itself, features violinist Caroline Campbell and cellist Tina Guo. Shelaya, by comparison, is a much more peaceful track; an aesthetic reinforced in the music video with its verdant setting and visual palette of yellows and greens. Certainly, it stands as a contrast to the stark white and black of Into the Storm; the debut single which shares the name of the album.
The album was officially announced last year, when it was revealed that Inon Zur had signed with Sony Masterworks.
