There is a rumor going around that Rockstar might remaster Bully. This is hardly the first rumor about Bully to circulate this year, and it may not be the last. What is the evidence? Let’s take a look at the tweet that has been stirring up the rumor mill this time.
Is it Possible Rockstar Might Remaster Bully?
Rockstar insider Yan2295 made the following tweet:
The text says, “Rockstar Games has acquired Crackdown 2’s developers Ruffian Games and has rebranded the studio as Rockstar Dundee.
According to some job listings, the studio is now working on a new game for Rockstar or a port of existing games.”
That is actually a pretty vague statement. “Working on a new game for Rockstar or a port of existing games” could mean just about anything. But Yan2295 explained his thoughts on the matter, stating, “If you remember the news from a few months ago, Ruffian Games was already working in collaboration with Rockstar on some project(s), and hired many new people for that. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were working on remasters of some older Rockstar titles.”
Given that being the case, Bully does seem like a pretty good first guess. But what about other possibilities? Red Dead Redemption comes to mind, but Rockstar likely wants to stay focused on Red Dead Redemption II and Red Dead Online. The same applies when considering the possibility of remastering an older Grand Theft Auto game. Bully seems more likely than those as well. Other possibilities however might include L.A. Noire, Max Payne or Manhunt. If we hear any more rumors that could shed some light on what the “new game for Rockstar or a port of existing games” could be, we will let you know.
