Jen Taylor Will Now Play Cortana in the Halo TV Series

Production is resuming this week on the live action Halo TV series on Showtime. But it turns out that there have been some changes. You may know that originally, Natascha McElhone was set to play Cortana and Dr. Catherine Halsey. But now, she will no longer be playing the roles. Instead, actress Jen Taylor will play Cortana.

Why is Jen Taylor Now Playing Cortana?

The reason for this casting change is that McElhone is no longer available to be a part of the show. The reason has to do with scheduling. Everything changed because of COVID-19. Because production was delayed, the original actress simply cannot keep the commitment to voice Cortana. Nonetheless, she will still be playing Dr. Halsey, Cortana’s creator.

But here’s the thing—a lot of gamers are probably going to be happier with the choice of Jen Taylor anyway. Why? Because she was the Cortana voice actress in the games. Many gamers think of her as Cortana anyway. So, having that familiar, beloved voice in the TV series will add an air of greater authenticity.

Who else will be part of the cast of the Halo TV show? Stars include Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief, Shabana Azmi as Admiral Margaret Parangosky, , Natasha Culzac as Spartan Riz-028, Bokeem Woodbine as Soren-066, Bentley Kalu as Spartan Vannak-134, and Kate Kennedy as Spartan Kai-125. Apparently Schreiber has quite a workout routine for the show.

The rumor is that the TV show is one of the reasons for the delay in the release of Halo Infinite. We are also hearing that it is possible that the release of Halo Infinite could come in stages.
