Several days ago, a huge deal took place involving the Minnesota Timberwolves and Philadelphia 76ers. As of Monday evening, the trade is official, per ESPN. The deal saw All-Star Jimmy Butler finally sent out of Minnesota to join the Sixers. That seems to have ended the drama that was looming in Minnesota and may have improved both teams. Here’s a look at how the Jimmy Butler Sixers’ trade may impact Philadelphia and Minnesota in the NBA 2K19 team ratings.
Sixers’ NBA 2K19 Team Ratings with Jimmy Butler
So how are the NBA 2K19 player ratings for the Sixers? Ahead of the Jimmy Butler trade, the Philadelphia 76ers had a top 20 player in Joel Embiid and a top 30 with Ben Simmons. Embiid is having a monster season and is rated a 90, while Simmons is ranked slightly lower with an 87. Both seem like future All-Stars for several editions of the game. Now they’ve added Jimmy Butler, who has been an All-Star for multiple seasons.

Butler gives the Philadelphia 76ers their second player ranked in the top 20. He’s actually No. 15 amongst all NBA 2K19 players with an overall rating of 90. It gives the Sixers and impressive “Big Three” as part of their starting lineup.
There’s also J.J. Reddick. The sharpshooter is rated as a 79 in the game, and was No. 91 amongst the top 100 NBA 2K19 players. He’s going to be the go-to guy for getting those necessary threes, although Butler, Simmons, and Embiid, have been known to hit them.
NBA 2K19 Team Ratings – 2K polls the fans
With the recent deal that was made, 2K Sports polled the fans about Butler to the Sixers. The fans mostly spoke in favor of the Sixers’ NBA 2K19 ratings moving up. With nearly 12,000 votes, the consensus as of this report was 58 percent of fans believe the Sixers’ team ratings deserve a boost. Meanwhile, 27 percent of voters said to keep their ratings the same, and 15 percent suggested lowering them.
Minnesota gave up one of their top 100 players in NBA 2K19 with Butler. They’ve still got Andrew Wiggins, an 81 overall, and Karl-Anthony Towns, an 89 in the game. They added several helpful pieces of their rotation with former Rookie of the Year candidate Dario Saric, Robert Covington, and Jerryd Bayless. Minnesota will also have a future draft pick on the way. However, subtracting a top 15 player is probably going to lower Minnesota’s team rating.
The Philadelphia starting lineup now has two 90-rated players (Butler, Embiid), an 87 (Simmons), a 79 (Reddick), and a 75 (Markelle Fultz). A Sporting News report from earlier today indicates that only two NBA 2K19 team lineups are ahead of the Sixers. They are the reigning champion Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets. That seems to indicate the Sixers are among the league’s top contenders.
That said, fans are waiting to see Butler play in his first game in a Sixers uniform. Video game fans will wait to see how Jimmy Butler impacts gameplay for the Sixers and Timberwolves in the NBA 2K19 game.
