Josh Hader, Paul Goldschmidt Clash in MLB The Show 19 Challenge

In this week’s MLB The Show 19 challenge, Milwaukee Brewers closer Josh Hader will square off against St. Louis slugger Paul Goldschmidt. While every weekly challenge features a great battle, this one is strictly power vs power!

Goldschmidt adjusts to life in St. Louis

Paul Goldschmidt spent the first eight years of his career with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Now in his first year with the St. Louis Cardinals, the 6’ 3” slugger is off to another great start at the plate.

Already, Goldschmidt has hit 9 home runs and drove in 18 on the season. Since his Opening Day struggles, Goldschmidt has been hot, and he’s getting hotter.

In fact, Goldschmidt  just hit the longest home run hit at Busch Stadium since the advent of Statcast. The bomb traveled 464 feet with an exit velocity of over 100 mph. Yes, it seems like the slow start to 2019 is a thing of the past for Goldy! Goldschmidt will have to be up to the task if he wants to win the MLB The Show 19 weekly challenge.

Hader shining again

Josh Hader is 0-2 on the season, however those numbers don’t tell the story of his dominance. With a WHIP of 0.83 and 24 K’s in just 12 innings, Hader is once again one of the best in the game coming out of the pen.

For gamers, this week Hader is the enemy as it is up to Goldschmidt to do some damage against the hard throwing lefty for a shot at some great MLB prizes.

Weekly challenge rewards

Once again the rewards for this week’s winners in the MLB The Show 19 weekly challenge are awesome!

The top three scores for the week will once again cash in big. First prize is an autographed baseball signed by Ken Griffey Jr. Second prize 30,000 stubs, while third place will net you 25,000 stubs.

If you don’t finish in the top three, don’t worry. The top 100 scores this week will win MLB authentic prizes as well.

If you haven’t played the weekly challenge yet, the rules are simple. You will be Paul Goldschmidt. Your job is to accumulate the most hits off of Josh Hader before you reach 3 outs. That’s it! Hader will be pitching in CPU mode, so don’t start the contest until you are ready to go.  Good luck fellow gamers!
