Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s second chunk of episodic DLC will conclude with Judgment of Atlantis. The trilogy of expansions entitled Fate of Atlantis has enjoyed a strong run so far. Warm critical and fan reception alike has made the further dip into a realm of fantasy has been a success. Now, the off the wall journey through the afterlife is reaching its conclusion
Farewell Atlantis
In less than two weeks fans will be able to get their hands on Judgment of Atlantis. July 16 will see the sequel to the last episode Torment of Hades reach Odyssey at last. Ubisoft has continually made good on their promise to continually roll out DLC for the expansive RPG, and this recent trilogy has yet to disappoint.
While no spoilers will be found in this article, the sheer variety present across Fate of Atlantis must be praised. First, the expansion took players to an idyllic realm of the afterlife with Fields of Elysium. The sprawling dales and towering waterfalls as far as the eye can see were awe inspiring. The story also deviated from Odyssey’s core in the best way possible; allowing players a mythologically rich escape from the base world.
Torment of Hades then ripped that sense of awe and comfort away, only to replace it with a looming sense of dread. From richly colorful landscapes to a bleak, barren one, the harsh underworld was the perfect contrast from the first episode. The story continued to double down on the fantastical with an introduction to one of Greek mythology’s most famous monsters. Now with Judgment of Atlantis the protagonist will be swept up into yet another magnificent setting.
Venturing now into the realm of Poseidon, there is no telling what trials lie ahead. The titanous buildings and grand architecture truly do offer the sense that this is indeed a city long lost to time. Atlantis and all of its secrets will be ready to unveil July 16.
