As such, Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada has been named the leader of Bandai Namco’s eSports division. Harada has also stated that he will continue to produce Tekken as well.
It’s Time to Expand Bandai-Namco’s eSports Horizons
Through a TwitLonger post, Harada confirmed that he’s the new leader of the eSports division. “I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who held and/or participated in various tournaments this year.” Said Harada in the blog post. “We at Bandai Namco are committed to expanding the horizons of both tournament and community scenes of these 3 franchises.”
The franchises that Harada is referring to are Dragon Ball FighterZ, Tekken 7, and Soul Calibur VI. “We are already planning to have as many official tournaments as possible for next year—while continue supporting tournaments held by the community. Furthermore, we are dedicated to figuring out ways where we can assist tournaments and community activities in the future.”
Katsuhiro Harada also told tournament organizers to contact the nearest Bandai Namco office for more information. The producer then promised that Bandai Namco’s eSports division will bring the ultimate fighting experience next year.
What do you think about Harada’s new role in Bandai Namco’s eSports division? Will you keep on supporting games like Tekken 7 or Soul Calibur VI? Do you think this development is good for tournament organizers?
