Following the rollout of today’s Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War patch, players have two new game modes to experience; Stockpile and Knife Fight 3v3. In both cases, this is the mode’s debut in Black Ops Cold War, alongside two new playlists and the usual range of patches and balance tweaks which are also included in today’s patch.
Black Ops Cold War Game Modes: Stockpile & Knife Fight
The first of the two new modes available now in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is Stockpile; a mode which may be familiar to anybody who played Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. In fact, at least one variant of Stockpile has already appeared in Black Ops Cold War, but not the original mode itself. Stockpile first appeared in Black Ops 4, after being cut from Black Ops 3 prior to launch. While that was its first and only incarnation, it is nonetheless similar to the older Fracture game type.

In this team-based mode, players must eliminate enemies and claim their dog tags. However, you must also bank those tags at objective sites, which introduces a greater element of risk. Keep fighting and you may claim more tags, but if you then go down before you bank them, an enemy might lay claim to your entire stash!
The other new mode, Knife Fight 3v3, is a new variant of the familiar Gunfight mode. Taking the 3v3 variant of Gunfight, Knife Fight features melee weapons only. To mix up combat, the mode features a rotating series of Blueprint loadouts which are given to players each round. Finally, launching alongside these two modes are two playlists, Combined Arms Moshpit and Throwback Moshpit. The former is now available in Quick Play, and includes 12v12 Assault, Domination and Hardpoint. The maps included in the Combined Arms Moshpit are Armada, Cartel, Crossroads and Miami. Throwback Moshpit, meanwhile, offers various different respawn modes on three maps; Express, Nuketown ’84, and Raid.
