As the weekend comes to an end, gamers now only have a very limited window to play on the classic Apex Legends Kings Canyon map; the map’s final day of availability is tomorrow, the 24th of February. Indeed, the map may not be available all day either. Fortunately, fans won’t need to wait quite so long before they get another chance to return to Kings Canyon.
Last Day to Play the Apex Legends Kings Canyon Map
The Apex Legends Kings Canyon map returned for the first time in months as of last Friday; it is currently available alongside the World’s Edge map. Indeed, this is actually the first time that two different maps have been available at a single time. (Outside of mode variants included in Arcade and Collection Events.) The map will be taken away again at some point on the 24th of February, once again leaving World’s Edge as the only available map. However, this isn’t the last time that players will get to play on the classic Kings Canyon map.
Ranked Series 3, the current series of ranked play which is running alongside Apex Legends’ 4th season, is the first to feature a mid-season split. On the 24th of March, the first half of the season will come to an end and there will be a soft reset of all player ranks. Additionally, Respawn plans to change the active ranked mode map, shifting it from World’s Edge to Kings Canyon. As such, the Apex Legends Kings Canyon map will be playable once again from the 24th of March through to the 5th of May.
In the meanwhile, World’s Edge is also likely to get some alterations in the near future. It has now been some time since the last in-game event, after all, and Respawn has already confirmed that another event is on the way; one which will include a Town Takeover for the World’s Edge map. Like previous Town Takeovers, which have always accompanied Collection Events, something will be changed or added permanently on the map. Past Town Takeovers have included Lifeline’s yacht, for instance, and the derelict laboratory on Kings Canyon.
