Last Chance to Play the Apex Legends System Override Event

Ever since the start of March, Apex Legends players have had access to the currently-ongoing System Override event, the first Collection Event of the game’s fourth season. Featuring the new Deja Loot game mode and the all-new Evo Shield item, System Override is now close to coming to an end. As such, fans only have a couple of days left to try the limited-time mode and try to complete their event cosmetic collection.

The Apex Legends System Override Event Ends in Two Days’ Time

The Apex Legends System Override Collection Event, which began back on the 3rd of March, is the first major Collection Event that the game has held for some time. Certainly, it’s the first one to occur since the launch of Season 4. As per usual for a Collection Event, System Override features 24 new event cosmetics; all of which can be acquired from either the in-game shop or Event Packs. If you can collect all 24 before the end of the event, you’ll earn the Octane Heirloom set for free.

Apex Legends System Override Event End Last Chance 2

With the event due to end on the 17th of March, players now only have a couple of days to collect as many event cosmetics as they have remaining. Additionally, once the event ends, the Deja Loot game mode will no longer be playable. This mode, which is currently live on the King’s Canyon map, features preset loot locations rather than random spawns. Furthermore, Deja Loot is currently the only mode to feature the new Evo Shield item. This new type of shield is initially very weak, but becomes stronger the more you damage enemies. Eventually, it can actually become the strongest shield in the game. (Although getting such a powerful shield will require you to put yourself in danger more often.)

At least initially, Evo Shields are expected to go away once System Override ends. Respawn have suggested that the new shields will eventually return. Certainly, it seems like their inclusion in Deja Loot was a chance for Respawn to gather player feedback. The studio has yet to offer any further details on when/if they will return. Indeed, they are unlikely to do so until after the event ends, at the very least.
