After the last few days of free, multi-platform access for all to the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Beta, the event is now approaching its end. The second weekend of the Beta event has given Xbox and PC gamers their first chance to try out the game. Plus, cross-play has also been active. Things have been going so well, in fact, that Activision has chosen to extend the Beta by one day!
The Black Ops Cold War Beta End Date
At the time of writing, gamers now have just under 24 hours to take part in the second weekend of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Beta, thanks to this last-minute extension. The event, which has been ongoing throughout the weekend, will officially end tomorrow, on the 20th of October. The exact end time is 10:00 AM PT. At present, neither Treyarch nor Activision have announced any additional beta events. As such, this may be the last chance for people to try Black Ops Cold War before its November release.
Of course, it’s worth noting that further early access events may still be planned. Activision has a track record of announcing extra Beta events at very short notice ahead of a launch. (Indeed, they did so with Modern Warfare.) Additionally, the company’s marketing strategy with Black Ops Cold War so far has been to announce almost everything at very short notice. As such, it’s entirely possible that fans might get another chance to play the game in early access, but there are no guarantees. Gamers will have to see what happens in the next few weeks.
With the end of the second Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Beta weekend, the game itself is now less than a month away from release. The game is due to launch on the 13th of November. If the Beta is any indication, the game’s launch looks likely to be a major success; there have been no widespread reports of bugs, network outages, or other such problems. If things continue going smoothly, the game’s launch should be successful.
